John Bourbon

Johns' principal areas of activity are Risk Management and Corporate Governance. He runs his own Compliance and Regulatory Consultancy business based in the Isle of Man.

In addition, he acts as a non-executive director of several companies, the majority of which are, or are connected to collective investment funds.

John held the position of Managing Director of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority from 2000 until 2002. Prior to his arrival in the Cayman Islands, John was Head of Supervision at the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission. Before this he worked for nearly 23 years within the financial services arm of the Barclays Bank Group.

John holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Financial Services Regulation and is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB) and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (FCSI) where he is also individually Chartered.

He was Chairman of the (UK) Compliance Institute for six years before it was merged with the CISI at the end of 2010. He has served as a member of the International Committee of CISI since that time, a position which he relinquished in March 2020.

John was the Chairman of the Manx Heart Foundation until he stepped down from the role in January 2024 after six years service.
